It’s less than 10 days to go until RISE4Disability in Peterborough (12 July – get your FREE tickets here) – if you’ve not heard about RISE4Disability, then you can find out more here. We’ve been looking at what exhibitors will be showcasing at RISE4Disability and here’s what we know
Ottobock, Klaxon and Recare
Ottobock will be showcasing the Zenit manual folding wheelchair and the Juvo powerchairs at RISE. The Zenit is a direct challenger to the popular Kuschall Champion, the RGK Tiga FX and the Quickie Xenon2, so worth adding to your list if you’re looking for a new ultralight manual wheelchair that folds.
The Juvo range is a really versatile powerchair, with a wide range of options to meet a users clinical needs as well as their lifestyle needs. It has also been designed to be easily maintained throughout its life, reducing the amount of time off road in unlikely event of breakdown.
Klaxon handbikes are available in manual, powered and hybrid “assist” forms, meaning that if you’re looking for a handbike but not sure how you want motive power to be, you have a choice. With the handbike arena quite active at the moment, we’re keen to see what Klaxon has to offer.

Topro
If you’ve not heard of Topro, don’t panic – neither had we until we got an email from them which rather impressed us. Basically its a rollater/walking support frame that can also have a seat built in to become a wheelchair when needed! Max user weight is 125KG too, so its not a flimsy device.

Lewis Reed Mobility
OK, not a wheelchair but Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles in this instance. Small confession here – I might be drooling over the vehicles that they’re showcasing at RISE4Disability. I love our Alhambra that we have here but the Mercedes V-Class Grande….
Wow. I would ask for a test drive, but I’m not sure if I’d want to return the car. Anyway – you can visit Lewis Reed at stand B2 (just opposite our stand at B9!)
Sunrise Mobility
Sunrise will be showcasing their range of power wheelchairs and manual wheelchairs, including the Carbon Braid Quickie Krypton and the new Salsa Q100R, as well as the wide range of wheelchairs they offer.
The Krypton is available in both folding and rigid frame variants, which is great for a carbon fibre wheelchair. However, the best bit is that the price is designed to be all in one – so you get a configurable wheelchair that has all the ultralight elements included for under £5,000.
The Salsa Q100R is a new rear wheel drive powered wheelchair that offers an option to users with a lower clinical need. One of the great things about the new Q100R is the lead times – 2 week delivery (beating the typical 4-6 weeks for a wheelchair) and the configuration can be done in minutes, rather than hours.
And if you want a more rugged version, there’s the Q200R… Visit Sunrise at stand B5.
Coloplast
It’s not an easy topic to talk about so here it goes – if you need to use a catheter, then it’s always going to be something hard to talk about. Frankly, we don’t discuss going to the loo enough sometimes. Helpfully, Coloplast have several solutions available for users and clinicians to explore, including the Speedicath Flex and the Speedicath Eve, both of which enable clean and hygienic catheterisation.
