Sunrise Nitrum expected 22 October

News

We can confirm that the Sunrise Nitrum expected on the 22 October will launch.  Sunrise have confirmed that the new wheelchair, an active manual wheelchair, will be made public on that day.  The name Nitrum in Latin and Greek roughly translate to “Native soda” and the genetic forming of this, so has likely chosen to align with Nitrogen, a close association of this.

This is the first new active manual wheelchair from Sunrise since their carbon fibre Krypton range in 2017.  The image on the Sunrise website depicts a similar frame wheelchair with integrated LED lights, single stem caster housing and a rigid frame.  The wheels look similar to that of Spinergy.

Anticipation of the Sunrise Nitrum

Knowing that RGK have had success with their titanium frames, it is possible that we could see a titanium framed active daily wheelchair to compete with the K-Series from Invacare.  Alternatively and more likely is an aluminium frame that is hydroformed, similar to the Helium in style.  With the K-Series having undergone a recent revision, this contender could be likely to go head to head for the configurable daily chair market.  It’s also likely that options available for customers could take into account Jay backrests and different footrest options.
