It’s not long now until Rise4Disability in Maidstone. First of all, if you haven’t got your free tickets click here and register – it takes less than 5 minutes. If you’ve registered, then you’ll probably looking ahead to Rise South East – and here’s some more to help you plan your day.
Accora will be demonstrating their Configura Comfort – an armchair with rising functions to help the user stand. It’s also got casters (for easy movement around the home), no-shear backrest and a removable cushion core. Alongside this will be the Turna System, which is an in-bed turning solution for a single carer. It’s really helpful if you are someone who relies on your partner or family to help you move positions in the night.
If you’re considering an alternative to a lift, you might want to consider a wheelchair-platform lift. Higher Elevation have introduced the FlexStep – a combination of a regular staircase and a lift. In fact, we thought it was rather cool, so uploaded the video to our Youtube for you to look at.
Enough said – those stairs turning into a platform lift are incredibly cool. We’ll try to do a Facebook Live with their platform lift.
Rapid Ramp is a modular ramp system manufactured from steel in standard sized components. They are semi-permanent, which means that you can remove them from a property should you choose to move. The ramps are finished in galvanised and powder-coated surface.
However, sometimes all that’s needed is something to cover the last few inches – which is where their smaller Rapid Loc ramps come in. If you have a deep door step, then you might benefit from reducing that last step. Fully modular, they can be built to your needs.
